FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you do custom orders?
Yes! Often. Most of the time, people just ask me if the thing they thought of in their head is possible for me to make. It usually is, so just ask! Fill in the email form on the contact page and I'll get right back to you.
I have a butterfly wing/ leaf/ feather from the beach/ my mother/ the forest/ the garden- can you make it into jewelry?
Yes! Let's talk! For butterflies- what kind of wing is it, or what color? This may determine what kind of setting I can use. Then I can tell you all your options and pricing. The pricing is the same as the jewelry currently for sale. I don't charge extra to use your wing/item. We then discuss your preferred design, you mail the wing to me and I make the piece. Easy peasy!
Do you do wholesale?
Yes. I am currently re-vamping my linesheet and spring/summer lines. Please inquire on the contact+links page and let's talk!
What do you actually DO?
I love this one. I am one of those people who always want to ask this to others, but don't know how it will sound. What do I do? I make jewelry. I run the whole business that revolves around making and selling something handmade. I have two studios, one in my home, and one in a Mill Building that has over 40 artists making/working there. Most of the time I am not actually making jewelry. I'm usually on the computer or shipping things at the post office, or taking photos of the products or working on my website, facebook, blog, or etsy shop. I also have to make time to design the jewelry, source materials, make everything, then tell the world that it exists. I design the graphics for all my packaging and web presence, then package and ship it all myself. I am the customer service, answering your emails. I also do craft shows and sell my work at stores in the US. Shows require a lot of prep, with applications and making extra inventory, planning, and then schlepping everything out the door for an afternoon and a paycheck. It sounds like a long list of things that I do, and it is a lot- just like everybody's job, right? Except I'm usually still checking on things until I'm in my pajamas. But I also get to be the boss which is the BEST part. I can cut my hours on days when I'm too tired, or inspired by the beach, or need to take a walk to get some air, or work until 3am because I got excited about a project. I love this kind of work, it's my own invention.
